Christmas Tunes 2008

Here are a couple Christmas songs that made it onto our CD this year that we thought would put you in the holiday spirit. Enjoy!

How Was Your Sunday?

It was my turn to play the organ this morning at church. Brandon likes to sit with me on the bench, which is usually fine as long as he doesn't push any buttons or any keys--the organ can be loud! He must have gotten a little bored during the second song because he turned towards the congregation and started leading the music with both hands in the air and a goofy grin on his face. I tried to stop him, but it's kind of hard to play the music, pay attention to the bass pedals with my feet, and pay attention to what Brandon was doing. I can multi-task, but I'm not that good. Wally, who was sitting in the back of the chapel, tried to use sign language to get him to fold his arms, but Brandon was to busy leading away. Finally, one of the speakers, a nice lady who thought everyone was laughing at her, turned around and told him to fold his arms. I guess being in front of big crowds of people doesn't bother him.

Jo Bro's

I believe that our kids have reached the pre-preteen era of childhood. At least with music. This summer, our car and itunes radio has been tuned in on Radio Disney. We know all there is to know about the teen pop sensations, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and The Jonas Brothers, led by big brother Joe. We were there on the premiere night of Camp Rock and have been listening to the music over and over on the radio. Needless to say, we've got a couple of Jonas Brother's fans. My nickname for them, The Jo Bro's, doesn't have rave reviews around here though. Brandon actually gets pretty upset when I call them that. It's funny to watch both my kids get so excited about these guys and break out in song anywhere we are (you should have heard them the other day in Old Navy when a song came on over the store sound system).

Anyway, the reason for this whole crazy post is that when we saw this painted on a rock by Lake Michigan, there was no way we were leaving without a picture of it.
