The Perfect Day

I am so happy that it is warmer outside and that the flowers are blooming! We had a great weekend together enjoying the beautiful spring weather! We went to lunch, went geocaching, played at the park, went on a bike ride, bbq'd pizza on the grill....it was a perfect day. It is so nice to do things like that as a family every once in a while and put all the "have to's" on hold.

It made me think about the all the things that I am blessed with. I have two great kids who make me laugh, cry, and proud. I have a husband who loves me despite my imperfections and who likes to have fun. I am an individual, comfortable in my own skin and ready for adventure. Sometimes I wonder why I am so lucky to have what I have. I really don't have any answer for it, but would like to think that I am doing the best that I can as a wife, parent, friend, and person.

Sometimes it takes a perfect day for me to appreciate what I have right in front of me. I love you guys.

TV JUNKIE

I've had a lot of pressure lately about writing on this...I've decided to give it another try.

I am a TV Junkie. Here's my excuse: I am going, going, going all day long and by the time it is primetime I am so worn out that all I do is sit on the couch and watch tv. No, I'm not proud of it. It's actually a little hypocritical since I am a tv nazi during the day and won't let my kids watch more than an hour of Dora the Explorer. I analyze most everything that I watch on the tube, and can even participate in lengthy discussions to contemplate what is going to happen next. It's amazing how much I get into the shows that I watch. I have my favorites that I will be a forever fan (Amazing Race and Gilmore Girls) but I have found that I get sucked in and it's hard to get back out. I've decided that this is because of living in PA where the sun don't shine and it's too dern cold to go outside (usually) during the winter months--does winter ever end here?

So, here's how I feel about "my shows". I am glad that Rory and Lorelai have made up and that they are back to normal--whatever that is for them. I am tired of the whole Luke and Lorelai thing, I mean just get married already! I'm tired of the reruns too. Let's just get on with the season.

As for the Amazing Race, so far my favorite team is the "hippies". They are very entertaining to watch and are just plain nice to everyone. It's funny to watch the older couple complete the tasks and to watch the other teams fight. It's still a little too early for me to decide who I want to win and stick with that team.

There's another show that I like called "Mythbusters" but I can't for the life of me stay awake for it so I never know if it is busted or not. Just give me the last 15 minutes and I'll be done with it.

So, there you have it. My two bits on tv. If you wonder how I feel about any other show, just ask. Chances are I've seen it and I have an opinion.

Better Late than Never...

So, I haven't been so good at writing on this. I feel like I don't have anything real interesting to say. Wally was gone for the last few days to Denver. He had a great time and got to visit with his family which was nice for him, boring for me. I've decided that I like to go and do things and if someone is having lots of fun without me, it doesn't make me happy. I really like to be a part of what ever is going on. That's not to say that I like being the center of attention, come on now. I just don't like to miss out on anything. So, since I didn't get to go to Denver with Wally, I am now planning an exciting trip to Pittsburgh, PA (or at least am hoping for an exciting trip).

I am looking forward to the Amazing Race premiere coming up next Tuesday. I am a huge fan of the show and after the last family edition (it wasn't too bad) I'm ready for the excitement of traveling around the world yet again. Stay posted, I always like to comment on the goings on of the race. Especially my favorite teams, would I do that challenge?, etc.

Anyway, not to exciting over here. Hopefully the next entry will be something of worth to someone.

Mother of the Year Award...already?

So, I try to do what is best for my family. I help everyone with things they need, get them off to school on time, keep things up and running, and cook them good things to eat. At least that's what I thought I tried to do. I guess forcing my kid to eat her spicy chili in less than 2 minutes time so she can do something fun isn't the best way to go. Well, she did it, but there was a minor side effect. 30 seconds later...yep, you guessed it, all over the table.

Sometimes doing your best can back fire in a gross way.

Penn State Trophies

We went to the Men's Basketball Game on Saturday. They had the Orange Bowl trophy and the Big Ten Trophy on display for people to take their picture in front of. It's just too bad they didn't tell us to move to the side so you could actually see the Orange Bowl trophy. Anyone want an orange?!
