A Fun New Tag

This is a tag from my friend, Rosalyn. I am supposed to post the fourth picture in the fourth folder from my pictures folder on the computer and briefly explain what is going on and then tag someone else.

There's really not a whole lot to say about this picture, but a ton I could say about the subject! Wally was working on his bike one afternoon. This is what he does to relieve stress or get out of the "honey-do" list that he often gets on the weekends. Since this is his primary mode of transportation, he rides year round to work in the sun, snow, sleet, hail, subzero temperatures and sometimes even in the rain, this is a big deal. I think he is cleaning the chain in this picture. I just love that he's wearing his t-shirt from the Tour de Tykes, his first mountain bike race in which I believe he placed 4th in (just bragging a little bit) while we were living in Pennsylvania.

Ever since I have known Wally, he has ridden his bike everywhere. He had his mission bike for a long time after we were married and he even tracked it down after it was stolen (another story for another time). That shows some dedication, right? He had a hard time saying good-bye to that bike when the time came, but felt it was OK since he was getting a really nice one in its place. Thanks to another good friend, he took his riding to a whole new level. He started racing in mountain bike races a few years ago and only wishes that it wasn't so flat here in the midwest! His bike loving fever has trickled down to Brandon and it has been such a fun activity for us to do together as a family!

Oh, and did I mention, he's got some really nice looking legs?!

I am going to tag anyone who reads this blog. It should be interesting to see what is hiding in the depths of the picture folders on those computers of yours!

My Life (in multiples of 5)

10 Years Ago I Was:

Graduating from Ricks College and moving on to BYU. Wally and I also got engaged and was consumed with planning a wedding.

5 Things on My To-Do List Today:

1. Sleep in.
2. Clean the house.
3. Return some things at Kohl's and buy a swimming suit.
4. Go to Home Depot and get some more veggies for the garden.
5. Go on a bike ride with the kids.

5 Things I Would Do If I Became a Billionaire:

1. Buy a house
2. Buy a Toyota 4Runner
3. Buy myself, Wally, and each of my kids a whole new wardrobe
4. Travel all over the world.
5. Pay off all of Wally's school loans.

5 of My Secret Bad Habits:

1. I pick my lip when I'm nervous or frustrated.
2. I am a total back seat driver--it drives Wally nuts (no pun intended).
3. I sleep in. I hate to get up early. Wally makes breakfast and takes care of the kids--yeah, he's kind of an enabler.
4. I love to watch TV at night. It's my way to unwind at the end of the day.
5. I love to read and if I get really into a book, I don't do anything else until I've finished it. I pretty much shut the rest of my life down.

5 Places I've Lived:

1. California
2. Utah
3. Pennsylvania
4. Washington
5. Illinois

5 Jobs I've Had:
1. Hogi Yogi
2. Centex Homes Accounting Department
3. Waitress
4. Medical Records
5. Assistant Childbirth Educator

5 Things That Most People Don't Know About Me

1. I'm a control freak. Just ask Wally.
2. My favorite kind of cuisine is Mexican food, followed closely by Chinese.
3. I have lived in every time zone in the Continental United States.
4. I am scared of big bodies of water--mainly being in the middle of a big body of water without anywhere to go but down. (My biggest fear is drowning.)
5. I am diabetic only when I'm pregnant. After I deliver the baby, I am fine, it just happens with I'm pregnant. I'm the only person in my family that I know of that has this problem.

**I finally got this done after being tagged forever ago, sorry Alisa!**

All you ever wanted to know...

Riding shotgun on our Hummer Safari ride in Moab, Utah

I was tagged again, but this time I get to write about Wally!

What is his name?
Walter Fred Paxton, although he prefers to be called Wally. I must admit that I prefer it too.

How long have you been married? 8 1/2 years

How long did you date? 5 months before we got engaged, and then another 9 months before we were married.

How old is he? 32

Who eats more sweets? Usually me. Every once in a while he gets a sweet tooth that is pretty strong and we usually don't have anything around the house to satisfy his craving.

Who said I love you first? Wally did. "I'm a chicken!" (Ha, ha!)

Who is taller? Wally, but not by very much.

Who can sing better? Have you ever sat next to Wally at church? You can be the judge on that one.

Who is smarter? Considering that he is a Doctor of Chemistry and looking to lead his own academic group someday, I'd have to say him. He may be smarter but I am always right.

Who does the laundry? I do. Wally likes to help by getting a load started in the washer and then going to work.

Who pays the bills? We both do.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Right now, Wally is. We switch when we need to.

Who mows the lawn? We don't have a lawn mower anymore. It was a casualty of the move.

Who cooks dinner? I do mostly, but Wally cooks breakfast every morning (I know, I'm so spoiled!) and homemade pizza every Saturday night.

Who drives? Wally does. I'm the navigator.

Who is more stubborn? Anyone who knows us knows the answer to that one. Easily.

Who kissed who first? Wally kissed me first, I wasn't bold enough to make the first move.

Who asked who out first? Wally asked me out first and I turned him down. There was some unfinished business I needed to take care of before I would go out with him.

Who proposed? Wally proposed at Temple Square, just after Thanksgiving when they turned on all the lights. It was sweet, but we did a redo a couple weeks later (after he got the ring resized) since there were so many people on the temple grounds.

Who has more siblings? Wally has 9 siblings, I have 6.

Who wears the pants? Wally definitely wears the pants, after I pick them out.

Tag-A-Long

I was tagged by a good friend and now I guess it is my turn to tell 6 facts about myself. I will try to make this as interesting as possible.

First, though, here are the RULES:

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog....

1. I'm not bossy, I just have great ideas. We'll just leave it at that.

2. I love to travel and am (usually, if not always) up for a new adventure. It wasn't until we lived on the East Coast that I realized how much I like to travel around and explore new places. I am someday hoping to travel overseas to Europe and Australia. In addition to traveling, I love to find and do fun adventures with our family. I am pretty good at finding local things to participate in (Family Bike Race, Turkey Trot 1-Mile Fun Run).

3. I love getting sucked into a good book, the kind that is hard to put down until you're done with it. That's how I read the Harry Potter series.

4. I love to learn new things. My latest interest is with photography. It has always been something I have been interested in and, this last year, started to read books and apply the things that I have learned. I have dreams of being a great photographer someday.

5. I always have an opinion and am not afraid to speak my mind (in most circumstances). I am pretty quiet and reserved when you first meet me, but once you get to know me, it's hard to keep me quiet. No reservations after that, baby.

6. I have dreams of someday completing a marathon and triathlon. I haven't had much luck the last couple of years when I broke my left ankle, had a stress fracture in my right leg, and then was pregnant with Caleb. I am now getting to the point where I can really focus and concentrate again and hope that all will go well this time! I really love to stay healthy and feel great when I am in a good routine.

7. (Lucky you, you get one more!) I love to have fun! Who doesn't?

Well, there you go. Hopefully there was something new about me that you didn't already know! That was fun, wasn't it?

I am going to tag Shayne, Melissa, Courtney, Maria, Wally, and Katy.
